PROTECTION ORDERS
We strive to help survivors of domestic violence, harassment, and sexual assault in a compassionate, respectful, and effective manner. We have participated in extensive training on working with victims of domestic violence, harassment, and sexual assault, the impact of domestic violence on children, and how survivors respond differently to trauma. We aim to support survivors as they embark on often life-changing courses. We assist and represent petitioners* with all aspects of protection orders, including:
drafting required court documentation (petitions, motions, declarations, replies, proposed orders);
requesting and obtaining from the court an emergency / immediate temporary protection order, pending a full hearing;
representation for all court appearances;
renewing a previously entered protection order;
modifying a previously entered protection order; and
enforcing a previously entered protection order (contempt).
*We work almost exclusively with protection order petitioners. We work with protection order respondents (those being accused) only in rare situations – typically, when the abuser has accused their victim.
We handle protection order cases in both King and Snohomish Counties.
Family Law
Folks often reach out to a family law attorney during tumultuous and chaotic times in their lives. We understand this, and strive to assist with family law matters competently and respectfully. We offer pro se assistance and limited representation for family law matters – and primarily work with cases involving domestic violence, child abuse, and sexual abuse. We assist clients with many kinds of family law matters, including:
dissolution / legal separation of marriage or domestic partnership;
parenting plan establishment and modification;
relocation; and
enforcement of court orders (contempt).
While we offer limited representation for family law hearings, we do not offer trial assistance of any kind.
