2020 Year in Review

202

2020 was a truly wild year. Despite this, we were able to do some great work, thanks largely to our incredible supporters. Take a look below at our 2020 Year in Review (click to enlarge) to learn more.

Can you believe that 2018 is almost over? This has been such an amazing year Northwest Advocacy Foundation:

  • In February we were selected as Green Bean Coffee House's "Nonprofit of the Month.” For the entire month of February (and most of March!) they let us set up a HUGE display that featured our work.

  • In June, our very own Jessica Lewis presented at the Low Bono Section's 2nd Annual CLE, "Unbundling: Reimagining the Attorney-Client Relationship." There were attendees from all across the country, and many of them were eager to learn about how they can help increase access to justice.

  • In July, we welcomed a new Director, Dayna Ducey! Many of you know Dayna, and know that she is the actual greatest human being, so we feel so fortunate that she agreed to join our Board

  • In October, we participated in the Allstate Foundation's Purple Purse Challenge for the second year in a row! We love the Purple Purse Challenge, and have the best time interacting with you lovely people.

  • In November, we received a grant from the King County Chapter of Washington Women Lawyers. We are so honored to receive this grant, which is "intended to recognize excellence in practice for new solo or small firm practitioners whose work benefits women directly or improves access to justice for women."

  • In December, our very own Elena Yager was invited to judge the Emerald City Open Mock Trial. She had a great time judging the participants and meeting so many soon-to-be attorneys.

Of course, what we're most proud of is the number of women and children we were able to help this year. 166 people contacted our office for advice, assistance, and referrals, and 60 people received direct legal services from Northwest Advocacy Foundation!

All of this is possible only because of the support we receive from our friends, family, colleagues, and community members. Thank you for spreading the word about us, for donating your hard-earned money, and for being the most amazing support base that we could ask for. We are so excited to hit the ground running in 2019, and are even more excited knowing that you'll be right there with us.

From all of us here at Northwest Advocacy Foundation, we wish you a happy and healthy new year!

Check out this Purple Purse mural in Seattle’s Capitol Hill! We are allll 😍😍😍 over @ellenpicken’s work! We love what Allstate Purple Purse + these amazing female street artists are doing to raise awareness about financial abuse. If you’re in Chicago, Houston, LA, New Orleans, NYC, or Seattle, you can see one of these murals in person. (And local folks, go check this out – 11th and Pike! πŸ“Έ) Click here for more information
